National Poetry Month!!

Hey all!!So in case you didn't know April is National Poetry month. Yay poems and poetry!! If you wanna celebrate national poetry month in style check out this list that I found on the National Poetry Month Website. You totally don't need to do the whole list but if you're looking to incorporate more poetry in your life this list is super helpful.

  2. Request a free copy of the National Poetry Month poster until mid-April; posters can be purchased for $5.00 each in our Poets shop thereafter (while supplies list).
  3. Sign up for Poem-a-Day and read a poem each morning.
  4. Sign up for Teach This Poem, a weekly series for teachers.
  5. Memorize a poem.
  6. Create an anthology of your favorite poems on Poets.org.
  7. Encourage a young person to participate in the Dear Poet project.
  8. Buy a book of poetry from your local bookstore.

  27. Celebrate Poem in Your Pocket Day today! The idea is simple: select a poem you love, carry it with you, then share it with coworkers, family, and friends. 
  28. Read Allen Ginsberg’s classic essay about Walt Whitman’s “Leaves of Grass.”
  29. Sign up for a poetry class or workshop.
  30. Get ready for Mother’s Day by making a card featuring a line of poetry.
