When a sassy and disillusioned phone operator gets a hold of the power of Cupid, watch out!

A mysterious caller…

Locke Casey is nothing special. Sure, her job as a phone operator job is a little unusual, but it pays the bills, and as a broke, twenty something college student, she doesn’t have much room to be picky. She is used to odd calls from strange men thanks to her job, but when one begins quizzing her about love, she finds her life turned upside down.

An unbelievable turn of events…

Turns out the creepy caller might actually be Cupid. For some unknown reason, the god of love passed on his powers to Locke, which makes no sense considering she’s never been in love and considers the whole concept overrated. Talk about an unlikely candidate!

A mission to save the gods…

Having Cupid’s powers alone might be more than she can handle, but with her godly benefactor doing a disappearing act, all the gods are in a flurry, and it’s up to Locke to save Olympus. All in a day’s work, right?

Battlefield Love is the first in a series, a slow burn reverse harem romance with sexy, godly avatars and steamy scenes.

My thoughts...

This book was so good! I loved it! Locke, was a great character, and totally relate-able. Locke, is your average call girl, trying to make a living. One day she gets a call from a guy who seem spurned from Love..He asks her about love? Locke, asks wtf but answers hi question anyway. She gives her honest opinion, and he tells her that her answer is perfect. She hangs up, and she shuts down her call girl service. Except the guy calls again, and she doesn't know how he was able to call. Locke, goes off on the, and hangs up! But then boom she gets tired and gets hit with a white light! Locke wakes up, locked in the bathroom, when she hears people in her apartment...She investigates, and realizes that they have guns.

 Locke is able to escape, with the help of sexy, charismatic hunk of a man! Ugh, he is so swoon-worthy! Locke, then goes on the run with this man, whose name is Mads pronounced Mass. Mads, then leaves Locke in the hands of another man name Rane. Rane, tells Locke what she has now become. Locke, has the powers of Eros or Cupid depending on who you ask. Mads, has the powers of Hermes, and Rane has the powers of Aries. Locke, also so learns that Mads, and Rane both want her...Now, Locke has ran away from Rane after realizing that he doesn't exactly have her best interest in heart. Where does she run into the arms of a former flame, who still has the hots for her! Did I mention that this book is a reverse harem! Lolz, after a few glasses of wine, I decided to request this book. I loved it, and I definitely think you should read it as well! My rating 4.5/5 only because the plot twist I wasn't expecting, and Locke totally ran away...

Blog Tour + Giveaway ::The Improbable Wonders of Moojie Littleman

The Improbable Wonders of Moojie Littleman
by Robin Gregory
Genre: Fantasy, Magical Realism

Early 1900s, Western America. A lonely, disabled boy with a nasty temper and uncontrolled mystical powers, Moojie is taken by his father to his grandfather's wilderness farm. There, Moojie meets an otherworldly clan of outcasts that he wants to join. Following a series of misadventures--magical and mystical--he is summoned by the call to a great destiny ... if only he can survive one last terrifying trial.

Having won a number of awards, Robin Gregory's The Improbable Wonders of Moojie Littleman is being lauded as a classic. A haunting, visionary tale spun in the magical realist tradition of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude and Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time, the profoundly unique voice and heart-stirring narrative recall great works of fiction that explore the universal desire to belong.

He arrived on the heels of an earthquake. A minor hiccup as disasters go, the murmur rippling
undersea, causing dories in the bay to bob and spider crabs to flood the beach like a ghostly
pink tide. It was the sort of earthquake that hushes everything for an instant before nesting birds
and sleeping butterflies burst out of trees. It makes your heart jump for joy because you realize
the earth is flying through space at one thousand miles per hour and you have been spared the
dreadful experience of the whole world falling apart and having to put it back together. It was the
sort of earthquake that the nuns of San Miguel de las Gaviotas would call a mystical grumble.
Really, there was nothing about it to suggest the terrible wonders looming on the horizon.
At a quarter past seven, the candelabras in the chapel stopped swaying. The nuns crossed
themselves, went outside and found a wooden fishing bucket on the porch. Expecting the catch
of the day, they were nothing short of horrified to see a baby boy bundled in fur and tucked
inside it. He had bright black eyes, enormous ears, and his hair was the texture of caterpillar
fuzz.
“He’s a Hostile, if I ever saw one,” said Mother Teagardin.
The word Moojie had been smudged across his forehead. And that was what they called him—a
peculiar name for a peculiar boy, who wasn’t particularly welcome. Against her better judgment,
Mother Teagardin, who always said the natives were ill-suited for local society, hadn’t the heart
to surrender him to the local Bureau of Questionable Peoples. She appealed to the local
families to adopt him. But the villagers were a superstitious lot. They believed the mysterious
child to be, well, too mysterious.
It didn’t help that before he cut his first teeth, Moojie amused himself by magically snuffing out
candles with the blink of an eye, and by sending objects into flight with the power of his mind.
When he didn’t get his way, he caused the wind to rip off the nuns’ veils and flash their knickers.
Like Odysseus, he was quick to act and slow to regret. Meanwhile, the sisters clicked their
clickers, and swatted his bottom, and continued looking for a family for him.
Except for one early chapter of his childhood, Moojie was a virtuosic flop when it came to the
only thing he cared about: finding and keeping a family.
This golden parenthesis began just before he was one year old, when Henry and Kate
Littleman, a childless couple who had moved from the East Coast to San Miguel—along with
hundreds of recent immigrants from Europe and the Far East, since America had opened her
doors to the world—took him home to raise as their own. Mamma immediately left her post as a
science and French teacher at the Charles Darwin Free School to look after him. Mornings, she
tucked him into a knapsack
suspended from a tripod, and went about her housekeeping. He grinned and giggled as she
baked bread, smoked little cigars, knitted hats and booties, and arranged his wet flannel diapers
on a drying rack near the fireplace. She wheeled him to the beach in a wicker pram, where they
collected spider crabs and napped in the salty sand; she rocked him before a glowing wood
stove; she bathed and coddled him. He watched Papa, a mapmaker, spin his curta and level his
transit, slurp scalding tea,
and leap out the door every morning in a pocketed vest. Sometimes, in the afternoon, Papa
played piano for him or showed off his soccer moves in the backyard.
In those days, Moojie was a model child, the ambassador of lovability.
He delighted at being the center of attention, always looking intently into people’s eyes, always
smiling, as if he were in on some cosmic joke. In those days—before San Miguel de las
Gaviotas had gone the way of Atlantis, that is to say, before it fell out of favor with the gods—
Moojie was passed around at church like a peace pipe. Warmed by his charm, suspicious
villagers now lined up after the service to take turns holding him. Once Mrs. Littleman contrived
a plot to put the smiling Moojie into
the arms of a miserable scrooge, and everyone sighed with awe as the long-suffering soul wept
and sang praises to God in heaven.
“Have you noticed, my cupcake?” Mamma said to Papa as she pushed the pram home from
church. “This is no ordinary child.”
“He’ll make a fine field hand, lovey,” Papa said.
At the time, San Miguel de las Gaviotas was a nick on the Pacific Coast of America, a clammy,
cluttery mishmash of thatched rooftops, crumbling walls, and crooked towers surrounded by
rugged mountains that rose out of fog like ancient pyramids. Moojie’s new home, Number 11
Wimbley Wood, a mildewy cottage with a drip line and assorted mushrooms growing in the
basement, appealed to otherworldly visitors.
Only Moojie could see the celestial bodies spinning and whirling all about him. And he
sometimes heard voices beyond the range of normal hearing —gifts, of course, that he did not
yet understand. In the witching hours, lights floated down through the ceiling over his crib. He
giggled and tried to grasp them as they bobbed playfully into and out of his hands. Mamma
came in and held him in the rocker, while moths and flower flies haunted the spirit lamp—like all
that is born, seeking to return to light.
Having landed in the nucleus of love, charming, handsome Moojie surpassed his parents’ every
expectation, blessing them with unmitigated joy.
But all of that was soon to change.

At first I thought Tony might just be a slob, that is until I saw the drawers were
almost empty and the bed was made. The closet door was open, with empty hangers
on the rod and an assortment of clothing and shoes on the floor.
Scattered photographs littered the top of the bureau. I was examining them when
Elena entered the room. Her eyes opened wide as she looked around the room.
“Elena, was Tony’s room normally this messy?”
She shook her head. “I don’t think so. At least not from what I saw the few times he
left his door open.” Then she saw the photos in my hand.
“It might not be cool for me to be snooping around in here, but these photos were
out in the open,” I said. “Some of these are pretty old. Probably family members. Do
you know who any of these people are?”
Elena picked up a color photo of a younger version of Rafael and another guy, both
clad in jeans and t-shirts.
“This one I know. That’s Rafael and Tony. When Tony first came to America.”
The family resemblance was pronounced. Both had the same dark hair, dark eyes,
and lean build. Unless the camera lied, Tony had a more prominent, crooked nose —
almost as if it had been broken. Without a doubt, Rafael was the taller and more
handsome of the two men.
“How long has Tony been here?”
“I think five years. Rafael told me Tony came to study computers and didn’t finish.
When his visa ran out, he just stayed.”

Blog Tour + Giveaway + Review:: Primal Shifters

Author: Kira Shayde
Release Date: February 25, 2019
Publisher: Kira Shayde
Three novella-length paranormal romances in one overarching story of sociopolitical conflict.

BANE OF HER DESIRE
When Holly Ainran’s brother goes AWOL from an elite military force in Tanzania, she confronts Commander Bane Ojore, a rare melanistic lion shifter. Sparks ignite, but Holly finds a challenge in taming this brooding, hostile beast. Bane does not expect the daughter of a high-ranking parliamentary executive to be a smart, code-breaking expert adamant about abolishing the lion caste hierarchy and ending the lion-hyena conflict. Nor does he expect such a stunning lioness to fall for him. But Bane’s job is to find the traitors supplying weapons to the hyenas, and all signs point to Holly’s brother. Holly won’t give up on her brother though…or Bane. As their passion escalates, so do the risks, the danger, and ultimately, their love.

DESIRES AT WAR

Months as a POW leaves lion shifter Fix Ainran struggling to recover, but he can’t get the curvaceous Caryn Plumar out of his mind. Yet the beautiful daughter of the hyena chairman only torments the disabled former soldier with heated trysts before pulling away. No matter how much she desires Fix’s touch, Caryn’s obligations involve more than fighting for an independent hyena state in a land ruled by lions and fraught with war. She must sacrifice any chance of happiness and freedom by marrying within the clan to ensure her safety. Unable to stay apart, Fix and Caryn defy societal rules and risk their lives as they battle enemies, search for the truth about his captivity...and fall in love.

COOL BLUE DESIRE

When Alina Van der Stel agrees to spring an imprisoned lion shifter in southern Africa and hand him over to the rebels in return for information about her birth parents, she doesn’t expect the man to capture her mind as much as he does her body. Falsely accused of conspiracy, Kipper Lumbwi has no intention of allowing the icy blonde to sell him to the very traitors who landed him a stint in prison. Yet her ethereal blue eyes reflect years of sadness as a snow leopard trapped in a land of lions, and he understands her need to find her true kin. Except she’s not the only one targeting him. With a bounty-hunting hyena and the Defence Force in pursuit, Kipper and Alina agree to an alliance…one that leads to her finally experiencing the joys of desire. Can their passion earn them the trust they’ll need to survive?

Release Blitz + Blog Tour :: Bad Influence

BAD INFLUENCE
Bad Bachelors #3
Author: Stefanie London
Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 26th, 2019

Annie Maxwell created the Bad Bachelors app to warn women away from guys like Joe Preston. Too bad she won't take her own advice...

Annie had her whole life figured out...until her fiancé left her when his career took off. If that wasn't bad enough, every society blog posted pictures of him escorting a woman wearing her wedding ring. To help the women of New York avoid men like her ex, she created the Bad Bachelors app.

Outside his stellar career, CEO Joe Preston has made a lot of mistakes. None was worse than leaving the love of his life when she needed him most. Now, he's ready for a second chance. He may still be one heck of a bad influence, but when Annie's safety is threatened by a hacker, Joe is the only one who can save her - and he'll do whatever it takes to win her back.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT
His lips parted hers, his tongue sliding into her mouth as he walked her past the couch toward the huge windows. Even with their eyes closed and hands occupied, they navigated the space with ease. He knew every inch of this place, despite the furnishings being different now. More importantly, he knew that Annie loved nothing more than the cold press of glass against her back.
When they’d walked into the apartment, they hadn’t needed the lights. But the sun had sunk low, and the city was starting to shine as darkness settled over them.
Joseph was tightly coiled—the past and present fusing together until it was impossible to untangle them. Annie let out a soft gasp as she bumped against the glass. Planting one hand next to her head, he spread his fingers wide. Rain splattered, coating the outside of the window in glossy droplets.
“You haven’t told me to stop,” he said.
As much as it would kill him to walk away now, waking up tomorrow and having her regret it would be worse. But for once in his life, he needed to man up and be honest with her. For too long, he’d let his upbringing stifle his ability to communicate. And it had ruined them. Ruined any chance they might’ve had at happiness. And running hadn’t fixed a goddamn thing.
“I don’t want you to stop,” she said, her hands coming to the hem of her cashmere sweater. The fabric lifted up to reveal her trim waist, then the pale-pink lace of her bra as she whipped the sweater over her head. “Whatever it means to you is your business.”
The fabric hit the floor, and her hands automatically went to the fly of her pants.
“I’ve told you what it means,” he replied. The sound of her zipper being undone cut through the air. “And I’m not going to play this game if you think you can shut me out afterward.”
Her hips wriggled as she pushed the fabric down her legs. Her dark gaze speared him like a lance to the heart. “You’re seriously telling me you’ll walk away unless I agree to cuddle afterward?”
“I wasn’t thinking about cuddling as much as burying my face between your legs in the middle of the night.” He watched as she continued to undress, peeling her pink panties down her legs and then reaching behind her back for the clasp of her bra. The action made her breasts thrust forward. “I want to fall asleep with those perfect breasts pressed against my chest and those legs tangled with mine. I want to wake you up with my lips on your skin, and I want to pull you on top of me while you’re still half-asleep.”
She stood naked before him, shadows playing off her porcelain skin. But her eyes were the giveaway—the blackness of her pupils eating away the rich brown irises he loved so much. They shimmered, alight with a potent mixture of defiance and excitement.
His hand was still planted next to her head. His body growing hot beneath his suit and coat. The contrast of him being fully dressed next to her nakedness made it feel even more illicit. “I want to hear that sexy, raspy sound you make when my name is the first thing out of your mouth in the morning.”
She tipped up her nose to him. “This is just sex. Nothing more.”
“Will thinking that help you sleep better at night?”
“Going to bed alone will help me sleep better.” Her voice didn’t give him an inch.
Joseph leaned in and pressed a kiss to her lips. “Don’t let the bed bugs bite then.”
He turned and walked through the apartment, stopping to pick up his scarf from the floor. Annie hadn’t made a move to get dressed and remained standing, staring him down. Her shapely figure was silhouetted against the Manhattan skyline, and it was possibly the sexiest thing he’d ever seen.
But trying to ignore what he really wanted was what had gotten him in trouble in the first place. She could huff and puff, but he wasn’t going to sleep with her if she wanted him to act like it meant nothing. He’d rather go home and take a cold shower.
Or twenty.
At least being at home would prevent him from thinking with his dick in the middle of the night.
“Don’t answer the door for anyone but me,” he said. “I’ll call when I’m on my way over first thing in the morning.”
She didn’t say a word as he pulled the apartment door open and let it swing shut behind him.
My thoughts....
Let's have a moment of silence, for that cover! I don't know who that man is but I can appreciate him... That man is part of the reason, I read Bad Influence, and it was worth it!
Related image
Alright now that we have addressed that MAN, let's talk about Bad Influence!  We meet Annie, and Joe who are in the middle of packing everything they own, and moving to Singapore. Except Annie is trying to find a way to tell Joe she isn't moving, because she just found out that her mother has cancer. So Annie decides to stay, and help her mother through the chemo, and recovery process. You would think that this conversation would be easy, or at least understanding?? Right, I mean "hey babe I can't move with you to Singapore because my mom has cancer?" Nope, Joe is a....use your imagination. He is "upset" because he heard Annie on the phone, saying "there's no way, I'm moving. I'll stay with you, mom." Joe is upset because Annie didn't "discuss" this with him, I mean after all he will pay for her to fly home every weekend. If they're in a relationship, they need to compromise, and talk about things...Yeah, this is where that man on the cover, lost all my respect.
Image result for insecure "'really" gif
I understand that Joe, needs Annie, and is in love with her. But to be so full of himself that, he wants her to move, and not be there for her family. Joe kept saying, that she always chooses them (Annie's family) over him...Bro, her MOTHER HAS CANCER! I would have been completely okay, if he was killed off. But nope, he lives, and yes he is a dick throughout the entire book. I did not like Joe, nor there relationship, at all. They knew each other, when they were younger because Annie's mom cleaned his parents home. His parents didn't think she was good enough, and a gold digger....Ooh they were not subtle about how they felt at all.
Related image
I cannot harp enough on Joe because Annie basically has to teach him, how to receive/give love. Like his parents are so distant, and don't know how to show or give love. So Annie teaches him..Fast forward 3 years, and Annie is still in NY, and Joe is now moving back to NY... Annie now has an app called "Bad Bachelors" which is an app where you can review men, with whom you've had interactions or dated. Let's talk "Bad Bachelors"  I love the app! It's a great idea, it's a safe space where women can be open and honest about exes. And not be told that "all men are like that or boys will be boys". Which is such a toxic trait that people have, we excuse certain behaviors because that's just how certain people are. We should not excuse their behaviors in fear, that you will never find love or whatever you're looking for. Annie also kept her app open and honest, she refused to take down bad/mean comments about a friends boyfriend. Which you're thinking is wrong, correct? I mean after all these are her best friends the least she can do is make sure that her friends, significant others,  don't get bad reviews? But no Annie sticks to her guns, and refused to take down the comments, even if it means that her best-friend is no longer communicating with her.
I really did not like how Joe, thought he could check Annie, and keep her in line. Like he was confused on if he wanted to be an alpha male with her or be the man she deserves?? Bro get that **** together!
In the end Annie fixes things with her friend, and keeps her integrity. Annie is a wonderful well rounded character, who deserves amazing love. Just not from Joe, he sucks honestly throughout the entire book. I really do not like him... Joe was a dick, who realized that if I love this women, I will be the MAN she needs, not who my father wants...I wish Annie had found someone else but ehh she's happy! My review is all over the place because I was definitely in my feelings, and cried wile reading this book.... Like the ending is to-die-for! My rating is 4.5/5
