Waiting on Wednesday(27)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine, and specifically spotlights upcoming novels we can't wait to read. As always, there are some amazing upcoming books, but this week I'm particularly excited for...

Title:The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten)
Realease Date:
October 29 2013
Publisher:
Harlequin Teen

IN THE REAL WORLD, WHEN YOU VANISH INTO THIN AIR FOR A WEEK, PEOPLE TEND TO NOTICE
After his unexpected journey into the lands of the fey, Ethan Chase just wants to get back to normal. Well, as "normal" as you can be when you see faeries every day of your life. Suddenly the former loner with the bad reputation has someone to try for-his girlfriend, Kenzie. Never mind that he's forbidden to see her again.

But when your name is Ethan Chase and your sister is one of the most powerful faeries in the Nevernever, "normal" simply isn't to be. For Ethan's nephew, Keirran, is missing, and may be on the verge of doing something unthinkable in the name of saving his own love. Something that will fracture the human and faery worlds forever, and give rise to the dangerous fey known as the Forgotten. As Ethan's and Keirran's fates entwine and Keirran slips further into darkness, Ethan's next choice may decide the fate of them all.

Words can barley describe how excited I am for this book to come out!!!I also cannot stress how reading The Iron Prophecy makes me wary of this book and the out come.
So that's what I'm waiting. So how about you? Leave a link and let me know. :)

So I just read the Lost Prince which is in the same world as the Iron Fey series

Theme of the day:Iron Fey Novellas

So today theme of the day post is a bit different that its not two books but two short novella. Both were oringially ebooks but were renctly put in print along with the story Summers Crossing.I'm only going to talk about two of the novellas since i already posted a reveiw on Summers Crossing Here

In the Iron Legends you can find the  three novellas set in the world of the Iron Fey plus the Guide to the Iron Fey with exclusive information about Julie Kagawa's unforgettable world of Faery.Along with a brief expert from The Lost Prince.

Winter's Passage1.5
Never make a promise to a faery. They always come to collect. Now Meghan Chase must fulfill her promise to Prince Ash of the Winter Court and embark upon a dangerous journey into the heart of enemy territory—while being pursued by a relentless new foe and guarding her own foolish heart.

So it's been awhile since I've read the first book in the iron fey series so rereading Winter Passage was a bit of a trip and a refresher. When I first read Winter passage it was new and exciting and it  held me over in till the next novel The Iron Daughter. Now even after reading the whole series it stilll feels new and exciting but also like a trip though memory lane.
The Cover: You can tell it's a novella because Meghan isn't on the cover and it has an animal on it.The cover fits with the story nicely and i love how it has a wolf on the cover.
My Thoughts:
Winter Passage starts right after The Iron King ends.Meaghan has to fulfill her end of the bargain with Ash they encounter resistance and problems in just a few pages, and the story ends with Meghan  at the Winter's Court.4/5

Iron's Prophecy 4.5
Before she ever knew what she might become, Iron Queen Meghan Chase was warned by the oracle that her firstborn child would bring nothing but grief. And even as Meghan and Ash celebrate their long-awaited union, the prophecy stirs.…

Meghan Chase is finally getting used to being the Iron Queen, ruler of the Iron Fey. Her life may be strange, but with former Winter prince Ash by her side at last, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
But when they travel to the Summer and Winter courts’ gathering for Elysium, the oracle from Meghan’s past returns with a dire prophecy
The Cover:The cover like all the Novella and Novel covers includes vines and like all the Novellas it includes a animal which is a snake.Which i see fitting after reading the short story.
My Thoughts: So unlike Winters Passage and Summer Crossing the Iron's Prophecy was all new to me. It takes place not long after the Iron Knight and way before The Lost Prince. The story is told from Meghan point of view and tells the tale of  her,Pucks and Ash's journey to find out more about the prophecy.I would like to say more but I'm not sure how i could without giving away something.I will say this that this story got me though my Puck and Ash withdrawal and i love how Meaghan got all Queenly and even more bad ass then before. This story answers some questions from The Iron Knight and leaves plenty of more that hopefully be answer in Julie Kagawa's new series featuring Ethan Chase Meaghan little brother.5/5

Summers Crossing Julie Kagawa

Author:Julie Kagawa
Title: Summers Crossing
Published June 1st 2011
Publisher:Harlequin Teen

A Midsummer's Nightmare? Robin Goodfellow. Puck. Summer Court prankster, King Oberon's right hand, bane of many a faery queen's existence—and secret friend to Prince Ash of the Winter Court. Until one girl's death came between them, and another girl stole both their hearts.

Now Ash has granted one favor too many and someones come to collect, forcing the prince to a place he cannot go without Puck's help—into the heart of the Summer Court. And Puck faces the ultimate choice—betray Ash and possibly win the girl they both love, or help his former friend turned bitter enemy pull off a deception that no true faery prankster could possibly resist.

An ebook exclusive novella from Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series.
Hello so this is my first review i originality wasn't  going to make my first review on a E-book but I'm in love with the Iron Fey series. So as soon as i found out about the Iron Fey Novella i searched for it,read it,and wrote the review. There are some spoilers so if you haven't read the previous book i would advise skipping some parts of this review.

Summer's Crossing has an absolutely gorgeous cover. It's green, tying in to the Robin theme. It also vines, which I'm guessing are Julie's favorite thing obviously because they are on every cover. Except, you can tell it's a novella because Meghan isn't on the cover and it has an animal on it.
The Summer's Crossing starts right  were The Iron Queen left off with Meghan Chase as the Queen of the Iron fey, and her leaving Ash her Winter Prince and Puck the Summer court Prankster behind. At the end Ash is going on a quest to try and find a way for him to  be with Meagan.Puck(my Fav) decides to tag along right before they can set out a favor is called this is were Summer's Crossing begins.

Summer's Crossing is told from the POV of Puck which i loved it gives the reader an insight to his mind and how he feels about the Meagan-Ash-& Him situation.Puck always to me felt care free and ,mellow but in Summer's Crossing we see a semi different side of him.Puck has conflicting thoughts though out the Novella on whys he helping Ash his once best friend, now enemy who vowed to kill him.

Since the E-book is only around 57 pages it a relatively short read. This Novella definitely quenched my thirst for the Iron Fey series and will tide me over in till The Iron Knight comes out this fall.I would recommend Summer's Crossing to anyone who loves The Iron Fey series or who like fey in general.
