Review: Pulse

Title: Pulse
Author: Danielle Koste
Publisher: Danielle Koste
Release Date: January 1st, 2018

Rowan Platts is addicted to success.

When she's presented with the chance to work on a top secret project fronted by her idol, renowned virologist Dr. Margot Miller, Rowan signs her life away without second thought. The realization she’s gotten in over her head comes only after the subject of their study is revealed: a boy with a bad attitude and an uninhibited taste for human blood.

He's a medical anomaly. Having the ability to crush metal with his bare hands and hear a heartbeat from across the room, it would make Rowan’s career if she was the one to discover what made him so unusual.

Easier said than done, with a subject who prefers snapping necks over answering questions.

My thoughts...

No matter how hard she tried, the driven spark that Miller said she saw in her failed to reignite. Something deep in her gut stifled it, a primal instinct, urging flight rather than fight.

Bahhh! I am a huge fan of the VAMPIRES but not like "oh I want to be a vampire...creature of the night here I come"... I understand them so much, typically they are misunderstood, people are constantly trashing their race, lifestyle, food choices...etc Pulse is pretty slow to start, like very slow. For a while it seemed that this book would never get to the goods? You know like the center of the story, the reason I'm reading this book. Rowan is trying to be the best Doctor she can be so why not ask to be involved in the most secret/dangerous/unknown research project that she can think of. Also not to mention Rowan definitely weaseled her way into  the secret project... That she was not suppose to know about and WHAM! Now she is at the very center, the only person that can communicate with the monster...Yep that happened...Rowan doesn't have many redeeming qualities because she uses her friends to keep up her shenanigans with the monster.

Humans are the worst kind of monsters

My favorite character is the Monster, just cut and dry. I need blood to survive you have some...I'm going to take it! Very simple, his honesty is what made him the best character. He totally has a name but the monster suits him better. This is a modern love story about redemption, acceptance , and love. Rowan, decided she needs to save the monster, and she does but he leaves soon after. Rowan is now heartbroken but guess who comes back to save her....Her monster! Lol!
 My rating is  3.85/5

He was a predator, and predators followed their instincts, not their hearts.
