Because of Low

Title:Because of Low (Sea Breeze #2)

Author: Abbi Glines

Marcus Hardy had hoped to enjoy a year away at college while he put the summer he’d rather forget behind him. But instead, he’s jerked right back to the coastal town of Sea Breeze, Alabama due to a family crisis. His dear ol' dad found himself a girlfriend only a few years older than Marcus. So now his sister needs help dealing with their mother who is mentally falling apart. The only bright spot to returning is the fascinating red head who sleeps over several times a week. The problem is she's sleeping in bed with his new roommate, Cage Watson.

Willow “Low” Foster needs a place to live. Running to Cage’s apartment every time her sister kicks her out isn’t exactly a long term solution. Juggling her courses at the local community college and a part time job doesn’t produce excess income. But Cage has a new roommate and suddenly sleeping over at her best friend’s apartment isn’t such a bad thing. Not when she gets to see those sexy green eyes of Marcus Hardy’s twinkle when he smiles at her like he wants her there.

Cage seems a little territorial where Low is concerned, Marcus finds time to spend with Low without upsetting his roommate. Cage is under the disillusion that when he’s through sowing his wild oats, he’s going to marry Low. Marcus intends to change that assumption for both Cage and Low. Until his carefully laid plans come crashing down with a revelation he never expected. He’ll have to choose between Low or his family.

Because once the truth comes out.... there’s no other choice

I absolutely loved breathe it was a sweet and touching story,so when i found out that there was going to be a spinoff i was more than excited.Because of Low comes after Breathe and  it centers around Marcus this time. In the previous story, Marcus didn't get the girl(Sadie) so im glad he gets his own story.

Marcus lost his chances with Sadie and he was heartbroken after that summer he went off to school but had to come back for family reasons. He meets Low and then everything chances,Marcus was still as sweet as ever and the rest of the characters i thought were well written. Preston, Dewayne, Rock and Trisha are some characters that helped with comic relief when thing got a bit to intense and i hope we get to see more of them in the next book. They seemed believable and genuine in the story. Low was a intense but sweet and innocent character who had Cage wrapped around her finger.Cage York was the opposite  to Marcus. He was tough and grew up in a rough way. He was a good-hearted guy  beneath the tough exterior and man whoreish ways.

The cover  was lovely and the splash of red made the cover pop.Because of Low is a bittersweet kind of book and i adored it.I can't wait for the next book in the Sea Breeze series.4/5

TGIF at Greads(1)

This Friday's Question:

Musical Stories: If you could read a book about any song,
which song would you love to see written down in story form?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 I'm not gonna whisper
Bad words on a Sunday
I'll curse your name at the river
To make me feel much better
And I'm not gonna keep it
Your dirty little secret
Where we made love on the weekends
I'm telling everybody

Some people don't ever change
Not every single Valentine's Day will be great

So find your little cupid
I think that f*cker is stupid
You guys should get together
And make his cheeks turn redder
And I won't be surprised if

I find our lip lock picture
You weren't a good kisser
I'll cut you up with scissors

Some people don't ever change
Not every single Valentine's Day will be great
Some things don't wash away

So I'm just gonna wonder
The streets of New York City
In hopes to find someone pretty
Who won't remind me of you

Some people don't ever change no
Not every single Valentine's Day will be great
Some things don't wash away

Waiting on Wednesday! (12)

 Waiting on Wednesday
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine, and specifically spotlights upcoming novels we can't wait to read. As always, there are some amazing upcoming books, but this week I'm particularly excited for...

Title: City of Lost Souls
Author: Cassandra Clare
Realease Date:May 8,2012

The demon Lilith has been destroyed and Jace has been freed from her captivity. But when the Shadowhunters arrive to rescue him, they find only blood and broken glass. Not only is the boy Clary loves missing–but so is the boy she hates, Sebastian, the son of her father Valentine: a son determined to succeed where their father failed, and bring the Shadowhunters to their knees.

No magic the Clave can summon can locate either boy, but Jace cannot stay away—not from Clary. When they meet again Clary discovers the horror Lilith’s dying magic has wrought—Jace is no longer the boy she loved. He and Sebastian are now bound to each other, and Jace has become what he most feared: a true servant of Valentine’s evil. The Clave is determined to destroy Sebastian, but there is no way to harm one boy without destroying the other. Will the Shadowhunters hesitate to kill one of their own?

Only a small band of Clary and Jace’s friends and family believe that Jace can still be saved — and that the fate of the Shadowhunters’ future may hinge on that salvation. They must defy the Clave and strike out on their own. Alec, Magnus, Simon and Isabelle must work together to save Jace: bargaining with the sinister Faerie Queen, contemplating deals with demons, and turning at last to the Iron Sisters, the reclusive and merciless weapons makers for the Shadowhunters, who tell them that no weapon on this earth can sever the bond between Sebastian and Jace. Their only chance of cutting Jace free is to challenge Heaven and Hell — a risk that could claim any, or all, of their lives.

And they must do it without Clary. For Clary has gone into the heart of darkness, to play a dangerous game utterly alone. The price of losing the game is not just her own life, but Jace’s soul. She’s willing to do anything for Jace, but can she even still trust him? Or is he truly lost? What price is too high to pay, even for love?

What Lies Beneath

I recently got into the new show on ABC called Once Upon A Time its a pretty good show that ties in with alot of fairytale. Not to long ago a episode featured a mermaid so since I haven't put up a short list in a while and i have mermaids on the mind that's what todays list is going to be about.

 Title:Tempest Unleashed

Author: Tracy Deebs
Tempest Maguire is happy with her decision to embrace her mermaid nature and live among her mother’s clan within the ocean’s depths. Even though training to one day ascend the throne for the aging mermaid queen is rigorous, she finds refuge in the arms of Kona, the selkie who first opened her up to her mermaid side. But when word comes that one of her brothers has been gravely injured on land, Tempest immediately rushes to his side—which also brings her back to her old flame, Mark. And in her absence, a deadly battle begins raging at the hands of Tempest’s old nemesis, the sea witch Tiamat. As the dangerous war erupts, Tempest’s two loves—Kona and Mark, sea and land—will collide for the first time, both to protect her and to force her to choose

Mermaids & Selkies whats not to love?

Title:Just for Fins

Author:Tera Lynn Childs
When Lily Sanderson decided to remain Crown Princess Waterlily of the mermaid kingdom Thalassinia, she knew she couldn’t just coast along in the current. But since she’s spent the last couple of years on land—with gorgeous human Quince by her side—Lily’s not sure she has the fins to lead a kingdom. Even her maddeningly pretentious cousin Dosinia seems to know more about ruling than she does.

But Lily has to dive in deep to keep her promise to Tellin, her mer bond in name only, whose kingdom is suffering in the changing ocean climate. Lily knows this is a seven seas–sized problem: from sea animals dying to oil spills and threats to humans. They’ll need to create some serious waves to make the mer community aware and get it to join together to make things right. Even if that means facing one of the iciest queens in the mer kingdoms.

Just when Lily thinks her double life on land and sea can’t get any more complicated, an ancient mer law might separate Lily and Quince after all. It feels as if the pair is up against a solid tsunami wave!

I can't wait to read this book the first two were pretty good.

Title:Monstrous Beauty

Author: Elizabeth Fama
Fierce, seductive mermaid Syrenka falls in love with Ezra, a young naturalist. Almost one hundred forty years later, seventeen-year-old Hester meets a mysterious stranger named Ezra and feels overwhelmingly, inexplicably drawn to him. For generations, love has resulted in death for the women in her family. Is it an undiagnosed genetic defect . . . or a curse? With Ezra’s help, Hester investigates her family’s strange, sad history. The answers she seeks are waiting in the graveyard, the crypt, and at the bottom of the ocean—but powerful forces will do anything to keep her from uncovering her connection to Syrenka and to the tragedy of so long ago

Title:Lies Beneath

Author: Anne Greenwood Brown
Calder White lives in the cold, clear waters of Lake Superior, the only brother in a family of murderous mermaids. To survive, Calder and his sisters prey on humans, killing them to absorb their energy. But this summer the underwater clan targets Jason Hancock out of pure revenge. They blame Hancock for their mother's death and have been waiting a long time for him to return to his family's homestead on the lake. Hancock has a fear of water, so to lure him in, Calder sets out to seduce Hancock's daughter, Lily. Easy enough—especially as Calder has lots of practice using his irresistible good looks and charm on unsuspecting girls. Only this time Calder screws everything up: he falls for Lily—just as Lily starts to suspect that there's more to the monsters-in-the-lake legends than she ever imagined. And just as his sisters are losing patience with him.

Freshman year and other Natural Disasters

Kelsey Finkelstein is fourteen and FRUSTRATED. Every time she tries to live up to her awesome potential, her plans are foiled – by her impossible parents, her annoying little sister, and life in general. But with her first day of high school coming up, Kelsey is positive that things are going to change. Enlisting the help of her three best friends — sweet and quiet Em, theatrical Cass, and wild JoJo — Kelsey gets ready to rebrand herself and make the kind of mark she knows is her destiny.

Things start out great - her arch-nemesis has moved across the country, giving Kelsey the perfect opportunity to stand out on the soccer team and finally catch the eye of her long-time crush. But soon enough, an evil junior’s thirst for revenge, a mysterious photographer, and a series of other catastrophes make it clear that just because KELSEY has a plan for greatness… it doesn’t mean the rest of the world is in on it.

Kelsey’s hilarious commentary throughout her disastrous freshman year will have you laughing out loud—while being thankful that you’re not in her shoes, of course

So after reading this book I'm definitely glad i managed to be relatively unscathed my freshman year. The title pretty much sums up Kesley's first year in high school. Kesley's first year in high school should be great. Her enemy moved, she has three best friends, she is finally going to get a chance to shine in soccer and snag the guy of her dreams. Then reality kicks in and things start to go awry. The captain of the soccer teams has it out for her and maybe the school's news paper photographer.Friendships are tested and the claws come out and maybe that perfect guys not so perfect after all. Kesley wanted to make a mark her freshman year and I feel like she did but not in the way she intended for.

This book is filled with nonstop laughs especially the play scene(Ba-caw).The characters seem real and I liked how even the secondary characters had a story.Like her little sister who was  that typical pest of a younger sibling.Kesley was a riot filled with plenty of charm and had a sarcastic comment at the ready.I love her “Typical Adolescent Behavior”and how even when things kept getting worse she kept going and didn't let it get her down for long.

The cover fits this book perfectly.I think it's simple but quirky and the burst of color plus title will lure you in especialy if your one of those people who picks up a book based on it cover. This book a great read and it talks about stuff that you can relate too. Reading this book i couldn't help but thing about my first year in high school and all the ridicules stuff that happened to me.
I would recommend this book for younger reader or anyone who likes something light to read.4/5
