Author Interview-C.L Causer

Chantelle-Louise Causer is a writer & prefers to goby C. L Causer because she hates her first name. She was born in England and spent the majority of her childhood in a small town in Lincolnshire that she couldn't wait to leave.
She is the author of The Lazarus Children and Willowhall Series.
To learn more about C.L Causer Click Here

1) What gave you the idea for the powers that the characters have?
I read this strange article years ago in National Geographic about human limitations. It was like a page spread with a dozen different drawings of people in different situations. Like the longest a person can survive underwater, how long they can withstand fire or even high altitude sickness. I still have the creased and slightly battered piece of paper tacked to my board. That little page started my main character profile years ago, and it grew from there.

2) What is the best advice you received?
Just keep writing! My high school teacher always caught me writing in class. Most of it wasn't good but she told me that it didn't matter. As long as you keep writing, the skill will slowly catch up with my imagination. And as I got older, I learnt and read more each day, sure enough my stories started to get better. I'm not saying their perfect even now, but I still continue to learn more and more each day.

3) Have you always wanted to be a Young Adult Author? Why do you think the YA genre is so popular, even with people who aren't "young adults?"
Even though I've always loved YA fiction, I didn't know I wanted to write YA until I was actually doing it. When I was younger I used to write a lot of horror short stories. I would give them to my friends. But I think that was because I was a little weird. While my friends worried about boys and makeup, I was up watching cheesy horror flicks. I kinda haven't really changed.
But I think YA is so popular with all age groups is that age, between 15 - 21 is so crucial in everyone's life. There's so much going on, puberty and angst, that when its over nothing really feels as new or life-altering as it did when you were a teenager. I know it's down to hormones. But every once in a while, you just like to get that feeling back of the first love rush, your life about to start and entering adulthood.

4)Aqua Man or The Flash, why?
Even though The Flash is much, much cooler, with the theme song and red uniform, I love swimming and the ocean. Time and time again I've just wanted to swim faster and live underwater. I would have to change aqua man's uniform though. The green spanx and netted tank top isn't holding a candle to The Flash's sleeker lycra. (BloggerNote:Poor Aqua man not very cool or stylish.)

5) Power Within is part of a series right? So can you give a hint on what's next to come?
It is part of a trilogy. The second book, Potential, is almost finished (just a few more editing swipes). In the next book you will meet a whole new load of characters while keeping a close eye on the ones Charlie left behind. More of the end plot is going to be revealed as we find out about The Institute and what it is truly doing to the Powers and levels 9's. I'm really excited with this book because the new characters have been outlined since the beginning and I've waited AGES for them to come into action.

6) Would you be a super villain or hero?
I think I would be something in between! I would help out people when I can, like superman, but if I could get some vigilante justice in this world I would do it. A steal from the corrupt, kind of thing. I don't really think vendetta's are a hero trait. I would be like catwoman. Anne Hathaway not Halle Berry. I'd be truly good...but bad as well.

Neverland

I was listening to All Time Low songs on you tube and came across Somewhere in Neverland which instantly reminded me of Peter Pan and then of the book Tiger Lily.So i decided to make a post that contains the song ,the Book, and a trailer of one of my favorite Peter Pan movies

Before Peter Pan belonged to Wendy, he belonged to the girl with the crow feather in her hair. . . .

Fifteen-year-old Tiger Lily doesn't believe in love stories or happy endings. Then she meets the alluring teenage Peter Pan in the forbidden woods of Neverland and immediately falls under his spell.

Peter is unlike anyone she's ever known. Impetuous and brave, he both scares and enthralls her. As the leader of the Lost Boys, the most fearsome of Neverland's inhabitants, Peter is an unthinkable match for Tiger Lily. Soon, she is risking everything--her family, her future--to be with him. When she is faced with marriage to a terrible man in her own tribe, she must choose between the life she's always known and running away to an uncertain future with Peter.

With enemies threatening to tear them apart, the lovers seem doomed. But it's the arrival of Wendy Darling, an English girl who's everything Tiger Lily is not, that leads Tiger Lily to discover that the most dangerous enemies can live inside even the most loyal and loving heart.

Waiting on Wednesday(24)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine, and specifically spotlights upcoming novels we can't wait to read. As always, there are some amazing upcoming books, but this week I'm particularly excited for...

 Title:When you Where Here
Author:Daisy Whitney
Release Date:June 2013
Publisher:Little, Brown

Filled with humor, raw emotion, a strong voice, and a brilliant dog named Sandy Koufax, When You Were Here explores the two most powerful forces known to man-death and love. Daisy Whitney brings her characters to life with a deft touch and resonating authenticity.

Danny's mother lost her five-year battle with cancer three weeks before his graduation-the one day that she was hanging on to see.

Now Danny is left alone, with only his memories, his dog, and his heart-breaking ex-girlfriend for company. He doesn't know how to figure out what to do with her estate, what to say for his Valedictorian speech, let alone how to live or be happy anymore.

When he gets a letter from his mom's property manager in Tokyo, where she had been going for treatment, it shows a side of his mother he never knew. So, with no other sense of direction, Danny travels to Tokyo to connect with his mother's memory and make sense of her final months, which seemed filled with more joy than Danny ever knew. There, among the cherry blossoms, temples, and crowds, and with the help of an almost-but-definitely-not Harijuku girl, he begins to see how it may not have been ancient magic or mystical treatment that kept his mother going. Perhaps, the secret of how to live lies in how she died.

So that's what i'm waiting on it will be interesting to read a story set in Tokyo.

Under The Never Sky

Title:Under the never Sky
Author:Veronica Rossi
Since she'd been on the outside, she'd survived an Aether storm, she'd had a knife held to her throat, and she'd seen men murdered. This was worse.

Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland - known as The Death Shop - are slim. If the cannibals don't get her, the violent, electrified energy storms will. She's been taught that the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He's wild - a savage - and her only hope of staying alive.

A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry views Aria as sheltered and fragile - everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he needs Aria's help too; she alone holds the key to his redemption. Opposites in nearly every way, Aria and Perry must accept each other to survive. Their unlikely alliance forges a bond that will determine the fate of all who live under the never sky.

 **********
Under The Never Sky has been on my TBR list since I first heard about it but i never sat down to read it until recently. Since a lot of the time I'll put a book on my list before it comes out then forget about for awhile...Under the Never Sky was one of those books. Recently though leading up to Jan 8 I saw a lot of blogs talking about the Under the Never Sky books because the sequel Though the Ever Night was coming out. Thanks to all the promo for the sequel i got reinterested in Under the Never Sky and decided to read it after months of forgetting it even existed.

So Under the never Sky is describe as a dsytopian(?)  novel  when honestly to me it comes off as some weird Sci-fye /dsytopian mutt.Under the Never Sky is set in the future where the world is ravaged by something called Aether. The aether storms  strike the earth with fire and cause choas. Humanity's forced to split into two different societies—the Dwellers and the Outsiders. Dwellers/Moles live in pods spending time in a vital world.Outsides/Savages live in the death shop which is desert like and harsh.
The story is told from dual perspectives, so we get a clear picture of both Perry and Aria's lives, their prejudices, their beliefs, their emotions and everything about them.Aria was a little too angst ridden at times but she was a plausible character.Same with Perry he was an interesting character but i felt that his desire to be blood lord was a bit much. All in all the characters were well written and  the secondary character were intriguing they made me want to know more about them in the short time they were around. The story wiil have you at the edge of your seat waiting to see how it ends.

I like the book I just wish i knew how the Aether got there and it would have helped if the language was explained in like a glossary at the end.My issues with the book are minor though so it more good then bad.The cover is absolutely gorges and definitely does justice to the story.Weather or not this book in dsytopian or science fiction doesn't really matter all i know is that i enjoyed reading Under The Never Sky and can't wait to get started on Though the Ever Night!!.4/5

What Once Was One

Title:What Once Was One (Hellsfire, Book 2)
Author: Marc Johnson
Publisher: Longshot Publishing

In the land of Northern Shala, the dark wizard Premier raised an army of foul creatures from the Wastelands and led them against the ancient guardian city of Alexandria. Hellsfire, a young farmhand turned apprentice wizard, defeated Premier and saved Alexandria, but not before the battle claimed his mentor’s life.

Hellsfire, now a full-fledged wizard, must finish what he started by hunting down Premier and seizing the source of the wizard’s dark power and corruption—the Book of Shazul. He must travel deep into the Wastelands, through Premier’s home territory, dodging the scattered remnants of a defeated army lusting for blood and vengeance.

But beating in the heart of the Wastelands is an ancient power more dangerous than Premier or his creatures—and it’s been waiting for Hellsfire for a thousand years. It will force the young wizard to make a devastating choice—one that could change the course of history not only for Alexandria and the Wastelands, but for all of Northern Shala and the lands beyond. And to save his homeland, Hellsfire may have to lose the person he loves the most.

What once was one, will then be two, and never again be whole...

*************
What Once Was One is a interesting book to read it's just as intriguing as the first book was.The story is full of action and adventure as well as a bit of romance. In  the first book we were introduced to Hellsfire and watched him learn to become a wizard and grow as a person making good friends along the way. In this second book Hellsfire is a full fledged wizard with way more power than he knows what to do with sometimes.

Dealing with the aftermath of going up against the dark wizard Premier and losing his mentor Hellsfire is staying at Alexandria There he has to deal with everyone's unease with having a wizard around. He also partakes in a  not so secret relationship with my favorite Princess Krystal shes a girl who can fight, use a sword like a pro and fights for her people. In What Once Was One Hellsfire and the gang go out on a brand new epic adventure dealing with creepy castles, old and new foes, new allies and a curse separating possible true love.

The cover for this book like the first is simple an ties in with the story but honestly it's a bit creepy to look at for long.I enjoyed reading the first book despite my hesitation at first because its not the usual type of book I read but I glad I did. With that said all in all a What Once Was One is a pretty good sequel. I'm looking forward to reading the next one to see what will happen. 3/5

Author Interview-Lola St.Vil

Author Interview
Lola St.Vil is a Haitian born actress and writer. She lives in Hollywood with her husband, eats too much ice cream and loves being stalked online by readers: )
You can learn more about her books here:http://marcusandemmy.wordpress.com/
 Or follow her on Twitter
To read my review on her first book in the Guardian series Click Here

1. Did you always want to become an author?
When I first came to America I was teased a lot so books became my escape. When I realized I could make up my own story, I wanted to be writer from that day on. I think I was about 13.
2. Did you put any of your personality traits into your characters?
I think if I did, it would be the two that seem least alike. I sometimes doubt myself a lot like Emmy. And I also can be very black or white about things Like Ameana.
3. If you could spend a day with any fictional character from either a movie or a book who would it be and Why?
I would spend the day with any Agathia Christie detective. I love murder mysteries and tea.lol.
4. What gave you the ideas for the powers seen in the book?
I had no idea what thier powers were before they "told" me. I find the best thing about this series is that I have no idea what happens next. I usually find out after its on the page.
5. Real books or a E-Reader (Kindle,Nextbook,etc)
Real books. I like the feel of paper:)
6. Can you give any hints about whats next for the characters in the Guardian series?
Their lives get more complicated. The mission gets far more dangerous. And not everyone makes it...

The Boys of Summer

 Title: The Boys of Summer
Author: C.J Duggan
It seemed only natural to nickname them the ‘Onslow Boys’. Every time they swaggered in the front door of the Onslow Hotel after a hard week’s work, their laughter was loud and genuine as they settled onto their bar stools. I peeked through the restaurant partition, a flimsy divider between my world and theirs. I couldn’t help but smile whenever I saw them, saw him ... Toby Morrison.

Quiet seventeen-year-old Tess doesn’t relish the thought of a summertime job. She wants nothing more than to forget the past haunts of high school and have fun with her best friends before the dreaded Year Twelve begins.
To Tess, summer is when everything happens: riding bikes down to the lake, watching the fireworks at the Onslow Show and water bomb fights at the sweltering Sunday markets.

How did she let her friends talk her into working?

After first-shift disasters, rude, wealthy tourists and a taunting ex-boyfriend, Tess is convinced nothing good can come of working her summer away. However, Tess finds unlikely allies in a group of locals dubbed ‘The Onslow Boys’, who are old enough to drive cars, drink beer and not worry about curfews. Tess’s summer of working expands her world with a series of first times with new friends, forbidden love and heartbreaking chaos.

All with the one boy she has never been able to forget. It will be a summer she will always remember.

************

There's nothing better then a good summer read, except  reading a book that screams summer during winter.I'm in Chicago it's Janurary, cold and windy and while reading this book all i did was long for the summer time.
Tess is best friends with Ellie and Adam and she comes off as the second banana to both of them Her best-friends convince her to get a summer job so they can all work together over the summer. As soon as Tess starts working at the hotel you know her summer is about to get interesting. From sneaking out to hang out with the Onslow boys, to growing as a person, the summer fun is just beginning!

I'm glad i decided to read The Summer Boys it was a bit slow in the beginning but picked up.Tess is a pretty likable main charecter who is kind, shy and just beginning to find her self in the story.Toby is a bit reserved and thoughtful he's very sexy and Tess has a major crush on him.I loved how the relationship of Tess and Toby grew it didn't seem overly cheesy it seemed natural and  It didn't really pick up the drama, till mid section of the book. The characters all seem so real and genuine my one of my favorites is Adam who is a complete sweetheart to Tess and the scene at the park made me wish i had a guy friend like him.The other favorite is Sean who i hope has a big part in the next book.

The cover is perfect for this book and conveys the message of summer time and love perfectly.I really enjoyed reading The Boys of Summer and can't wait for the next book in the series.Which is called An Endless Summer it takes place four years after The boys Of Summer and everyone's coming home!*Squeal*I can't wait to see how everyone turned out and if their all still friends. The Boys of Summer is easily up there with the likes of Jenny Han’s series, The Summer I Turned Pretty and the book Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah O.The book is a light read and I would highly recommend this one.4/5

Just For Now

Title: Just for Now

Author:Abbi Glines

The day Preston Drake figured out that wealthy women paid well for a set of tight abs and a pretty face his life turned around.

The run down rat-infested trailer he had shared with his alcoholic mother and three younger siblings was now only a place he visited to pay the bills and stock the pantry with food.

He no longer worried about his family starving or living without electricity. The money he made entertaining rich older women more than covered his family’s needs and his own. He had it all figured out. Except…There was this girl. She was as innocent as he was tainted.

Amanda Hardy wished her knees didn’t get weak when Preston walked into a room. She hated the fact her heart raced when he flashed his smile in her direction. He had a different girl in his bed every night. He was the kind of boy a smart girl ran from. So, why was she coming up with ways to get close to him? Even when it was obvious he wanted to keep her at a distance.

Maybe her heart knew something the world didn’t. Maybe Preston Drake was more than just a pretty face

****************
So I’m a big fan of the Sea Breeze series but Just For Now fell flat for me. The series starts sweet with Breathe then started getting slightly cliche-after Because of Low- in a bad way. If the Sea Breeze series has a formula then this is it...Boy meets Girl. They fall in love. One person is reluctant to the relationship.Passionate Kiss or Sex. Person gets over reluctance. Shocking Twist.Angst.Issue Resolved.Sex.

We read about Sadie and Jax,Marcus and Low,then Cage and Eva. Now we get to see the story about Preston and Amanda. Preston Blake is a ladies man plain and simple kinda like Cage York but minus the bad boy edge.He is known for one night stands but is  also a wonderful brother, a loyal friend and athlete who lives a hard hard life. He also hides a pretty big secret. Amanda Hardy is Marcus's little sister she's kind and sweet she also happen to have a huge crush on Preston her brothers best friend.
In Just for Now they get together and try to figure out exactly what love is and what it means for them to together. The story was pretty good but at time Amanda seemed a bit to naive this may not be my favorite story in the series but it's pretty good. The charecters were all well thought out and realistic and I pretty much love Rock and Tris because of Just for Now.I'm no going to lie it would be interesting to find out Rock's back-story.

I like the cover and to me it fit the book and story pretty well.I will definitely continue on with the Sea Breeze Series and I hope the next book is about Jessie and Jax's younger brother. The first two books seemed to be about the guy getting the shy girl with family issues. Then the next two focused on bad boys so it will be cool if a Bad girl got a chance to shine plus Jason Stone seemed sweet. Just for Now may not be my favorite Sea Breeze novel but it had it's moments. 2/5

“Hearts don’t realize they’ve been lied to. They still love anyway.”

The Kiss Off

 Title: The Kiss Off
Author: Sarah Billington

When sixteen year old Poppy Douglas writes a song about her ex-boyfriend Cam and ex-friend Nikki, she has no idea that her heartbreak is about to go global.

A local band picks up her song from Youtube and soon she’s along for the ride with her own fanbase as they blow up on the local club scene and hit the international charts. Though it turns out leaving Cam behind isn’t as easy as she had hoped.

Tangled in a web of unfinished homework, ill-considered sexting and a new lead-singer boyfriend, Poppy has a choice to make between the ex that inspired it all and the rock God whose poster lines the inside of half the lockers at school. But as she struggles to keep her emotional dirty laundry private, she learns that the truth can be hard to find when your life is in the headlines

 ****************
The Kiss Off is filled with rock stars, love triangles,a crazy dog and loads of teen angst.
Love triangles can either be really interesting and a well written one makes the reader invested in the out come were we actually care who ends up with who. Then there those cheesy love triangle that are complete cliches you know the ones were everything seems so obvious and the love triangle falls flat. The triangle between Poppy,Cam and Ty to me falls in the middle

Kiss Off starts with Poppy writing an angry song about her ex Cam and ex-friend Nikki little does she know it's going to be sensation online. Laughs and hilarity ensure and she meets Ty the front man of a local band who gaining fans and fame. Suddenly Poppy is no longer broken hearted and dealing with the drama of dating a rising rock star.
When I first picked up I though it was going to be completed fluff,I’m not a big fan of fluff but done right I don't mind some fluff here and there. Well I was right and wrong it was fluff but not pure fluff. The kiss Off touched on subjects as sex, alcohol and sexting. Even with these subjects are for a mature audience the characters sounded young and poppy seemed naive to me(maybe I’m jaded since most Ya books I read don't seem like Ya.) All in all the book was a quick read and I would recommend it to younger readers13 & up or any one who doesn't mind a fun/fluffy story. 2/5

Zombies!

Zombies are gross!!!I've never really found the appeal they're undead, creepy, and want to eat peoples faces off. So when i saw the movie preview for Warm Bodies i was skeptical.I mean come on....it's a Zombie RomCom.I watched the preveiw a few times and got hooked though ,then i found out it's based of a book!So despite my uniterest i shall read the book and watch the moive when it comes out.

With all that being said i still think zombies are gross and what not but I'm not going to lie i have watched zombie flicks(Who hasn't?) and even read a few book containing the face munching undead that were pretty good. So  I'm going to make a short list with books containing Zombies....
Brainss Brainss On Nom Nom Brainsss

Title:I,Zombie

I, Zombie can't wait to eat the little girl.
The old man looks like he'd be a bit tough and gristly, and the teenage boy keeps waving that bat around, but the little girl, so rosy cheeked, so tender. Her heart beating so fast. He can't wait to hold it, hot and wet in his hands, then rip it apart with his teeth. But he isn't the only zombie to find them.
He's got a fight on his hands, but with who, was unexpected.

This sounds creepy without being creepy,Just how i like my zombies.

 Title: Zombie VS Unicorn
It's a question as old as time itself: which is better, the zombie or the unicorn? In this anthology, edited by Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier (unicorn and zombie, respectively), strong arguments are made for both sides in the form of short stories. Half of the stories portray the strengths--for good and evil--of unicorns and half show the good (and really, really bad-ass) side of zombies. Contributors include many bestselling teen authors, including Cassandra Clare, Libba Bray, Maureen Johnson, Meg Cabot, Scott Westerfeld, and Margo Lanagan. This anthology will have everyone asking: Team Zombie or Team Unicorn?

I'm torn between the two.Zombies want to eat my brains while unicorns  are either too cutesy for me or want to impale me with their horns.

Title:Never Slow Dance With a Zombie
Author: E.Van Lowe

Principal Taft's 3 Simple Rules for Surviving a Zombie Uprising:

Rule #1: While in the halls, walk slowly and wear a vacant expression on your face. Zombies won't attack other zombies.

Rule #2:  Never travel alone.  Move in packs.  Follow the crowd.  Zombies detest blatant displays of individuality.

Rule #3:  If a zombie should attack, do not run. Instead, throw raw steak at to him.  Zombies love raw meat. This display of kindness will go a long way.

On the night of her middle school graduation, Margot Jean Johnson wrote a high school manifesto detailing her goals for what she was sure would be a most excellent high school career. She and her best friend, Sybil, would be popular and, most important, have boyfriends. Three years later, they haven't accomplished a thing!

Then Margot and Sybil arrive at school one day to find that most of the student body has been turned into flesh-eating zombies. When kooky Principal Taft asks the girls to coexist with the zombies until the end of the semester, they realize that this is the perfect opportunity to live out their high school dreams. All they have to do is stay alive....

A high-school filled with zombies...that's nothing new it happens everyday. ;)

Title:The Forest of Hands and Teeth
Author: Carrie Ryan

In Mary's world there are simple truths. The Sisterhood always knows best. The Guardians will protect and serve. The Unconsecrated will never relent. And you must always mind the fence that surrounds the village; the fence that protects the village from the Forest of Hands and Teeth. But, slowly, Mary’s truths are failing her. She’s learning things she never wanted to know about the Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power, and about the Unconsecrated and their relentlessness.

When the fence is breached and her world is thrown into chaos, she must choose between her village and her future—between the one she loves and the one who loves her. And she must face the truth about the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Could there be life outside a world surrounded in so much death?

This is the only book on my list that I've read and the zombies in this book are everything that Zombies should  be like.So they're terrifying and will rip you to shreds. This book is part of a series that i highly recommend if your into zombies.

Comment on your fav Zombie book.:)

While reading Crush:26 Real-Life Tales of First Love the anthology about crushes-obviously- edited by Andrea n. Richesin and filled up of stories by some amazing authors. I felt nostalgic for something that I feel like I have no right to feel nostalgic for. I make it quite plain all the time that I’m not a fan of the cheesy commercialize version of love. Or sappy Romantic Comedies were the girl always gets her guy or vice versa,I like love stories that have a twist maybe that why I enjoyed Crush so much.

I honestly don't believe I’ve ever been in love with anyone other then family or with friends where everything was completely platonic. While reading Crush I wished that I had though, throughout this book I kept thinking back to my previous crushes and smiling or most oftenly sighing at what could have happened if I wasn't so shy. The book is compromised of  essays/stories of authors first loves/crushes. Some were pretty interesting while others not so much. They all though are about sharing a personal story about a moment that changed them forever.

Some of the stories were sweet and fun as seen in Laured Oliver's story, then there was some slightly obsessive love for a celebrity “To Sir Anthony,With Love”and even some borderline obsessive stalkerish behavior in the “Uncle” Greg story by Heather Swain which made me laugh out loud the whole time. It also was interesting to see how the perspective of a story changed and how one moment meant two completely different things when retold.

My favorite story would have to be “The Boy in the White VW Bug” which made me smile the whole time. Then there was When it was all Brand by Rebecca Walker her story was raw honest and compelling I thought about days after reading. Another story that I thought about days after and reread was “What I Kept” by Jacquelyn M told the story of a pure young love that I doubt is still in existence any more and that makes me sad because her story is heart-warming and I wish people where still like that. Each story deserves a different rating but as a whole Crush is wonderful and will fill you with nostalgia and longing for your first love/crush.5/5

Reunited

Title:Reunited
Author: Hilary Weisman Graham
Publisher:Simon & Schuster

Alice, Summer, and Tiernan are ex-best friends.

Back in middle school, the three girls were inseparable. They were also the number one fans of the rock band Level3.

But when the band broke up, so did their friendship. Summer ran with the popular crowd, Tiernan was a rebellious wild-child, and Alice spent high school with her nose buried in books. Now, just as the girls are about to graduate, Level3 announces a one-time-only reunion show.Even though the concert’s 2000 miles away, Alice buys three tickets on impulse. And as it turns out, Summer and Tiernan have their own reasons for wanting to get out of town. Good thing Alice’s graduation gift (a pea-green 1976 VW camper van known as the Pea Pod) is just the vehicle to get them there.
But on the long drive cross-country, the girls hit more than a few bumps in the road. Will their friendship get an encore or is the show really over?
 ************
*Sigh* Until I can embark on my own road I have to experience it though movies and books. I love road tripping books so when I saw Reunited I had to read it plus the whole concept of past friends road tripping intrigued me. Reunited is about three high-school grads who at one point were all best friends. One awesome pea green,a VW bus and a semi awkward road-trip to Austin to see their favorite band Level3 reunited for a surprise concert.

Three super cliche sounding girls Alice(Book worm/Nerd),Summer(Popular girl with shocking depth) and Tieran(Wild child with mommy issues) were once best friends now a few years after their friendship crumbled their reuniting. Thanks to Alice to go see Level3 their fav band that broke up and now reuniting for one concert. Once leaving their home town hilarity begins filled with multiple ups and downs.

The cover is really eye catching and immediately made me pick up the book. It's bright yellow and I can easily picture the girls studying the map looking forward for adventure. I liked the story at first but then I didn't but then I did again so my thoughts on Reunited are complicated. While it didn't reach my expectation I did enjoy the story and really enjoyed the Level3 lyrics scattered throughout the book between chapters. As well as the hilarious one liners that pop out unexpectedly. So to sum it all up Yes Reunited is cliché and might make you cringe every now but the underlining theme is friendship and the love of music so if you want a fun read thats fluff with heart I’d recommend this book3/5

Apparently Level3 is a real band! 0_o
