Mordern Day Retellings & Untold stories

So a big thing I see a lot is the modern day  retelling of fairy tales, classic novels and then there's the story of a minor character that nobody really care about in the original. My favorite would be the stories of the minor character that nobody cares about its fun to see the point of view from someone who may not have been in the original story at all except for very briefly.

Theres also novels with new characters that weren't in the original but just seem to fit, these are also my fave its fun imaging what If and hoping for a new outcome even though you know whats going to happen..So because there are alot of these types of stories I'm going to make a quick list of a few.Hope you Enjoy!

Hamlet

Title:Falling for Hamlet
Author:

Meet Ophelia: a blonde, beautiful high-school senior and long-time girlfriend of Prince Hamlet of Denmark. Her life is dominated not only by her boyfriend's fame and his overbearing family, but also by the paparazzi who hound them wherever they go. As the devastatingly handsome Hamlet spirals into madness after the mysterious death of his father, the King, Ophelia rides out his crazy roller coaster life, and lives to tell about it. In live television interviews, of course.

Passion, romance, drama, humor, and tragedy intertwine in this compulsively readable debut novel, told by a strong-willed, modern-day Ophelia.

Ohh... Ophelia's story gets told.I was pleasantly surprised when i read this book.

Title:  Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
Author: Tom Stoppard
Acclaimed as a modern dramatic masterpiece, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead is the fabulously inventive tale of Hamlet as told from the worm's-eye view of the bewildered Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, two minor characters in Shakespeare's play.

In Tom Stoppard's best-known work, this Shakespearean Laurel and Hardy finally get a chance to take the lead role, but do so in a world where echoes of Waiting for Godot resound, where reality and illusion intermix, and where fate leads our two heroes to a tragic but inevitable end.

I recently stumbled upon this book after it was assigned for class and I'm glad.I have yet to read this book and hopefully its enjoyable.I like the fact that these to characters get to tell their brief story.

Macbeth

Title: Lady Macbeth's Daughter
Author: Lisa Klein
The daughter Macbeth might have had, if Shakespeare had thought to create her…

Albia has grown up with no knowledge of her mother of her father, the powerful Macbeth. Instead she knows the dark lure of the Wychelm Wood and the moors, where she’s been raised by three strange sisters. It’s only when the ambitious Macbeth seeks out the sisters to foretell his fate that Albia’s life becomes tangled with the man who leaves nothing but bloodshed in his wake. She even falls in love with Fleance, Macbeth’s rival for the throne.

Yet when Albia learns that she has the second sight, she must decide whether to ignore the terrible future she foresees—or to change it. Will she be able to save the man she loves from her murderous father?  And can she forgive her parents their wrongs, or must she destroy them to save Scotland from tyranny?

In her highly anticipated follow-up to Ophelia, Lisa Klein delivers a powerful reimagining of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, featuring a young woman so seamlessly drawn it seems impossible she was not part of the Bard’s original play....

Cinderella

Title: Cinder
Author: Marissa Meyer
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. We all know the Disney Cinderella with the sweet old fairy God mother but here's a kick A** cyborg who's a revamped version of what we know.I'm definitely curious about this book and how it turns out

Title: Confessions of An Ugly Stepsister
