  8. Mythology- I find myths and Legends fascinating especially Greek mythology. It's always a treat to read about all types of myths though.

  9.  Dystopian-I love a good dystopian story but lately I've become wary since they are everywhere now.Even with that said though if I see the word Dystopian I'll see what it's about cause you never know.

After accidentally electrocuting her sister and blowing up her mother's kitchen, she suppresses her powers for ten years. Unknowing that there are more people like her out there. A lot more.

That is until a secret group of them try and hunt her down because of her unusual abilities. Forcing her family into hiding, she goes on the run. Having to learn about her powers and her past, she meets many new friends along the way. But you can't run forever. She learns that someone has betrayed her to the very people she is running from.

*******************
Out of no where as a child Charlie devolved powers and has been trying to keep a grip on her powers for about 7 years now.Charlie is just trying to live a normal life without accidentally blowing anything up.However her powers seem to be getting stronger and after almost blowing up a classroom she heads home and to the doctors.Soon she realizes that something is amiss and goes on the run trying to figure out her power and decide who she can trust.

The best thing about this book was the story line was really unpredictable. I couldn’t predict what’s going to happen next and that kept me invested in the story.Even though there were a few slow part that felt like they were dragging. The cast of charecters where wonderful and learning about everyone powers was interesting.
Charlie is the main protagonist and I enjoyed her character she's a girl who wants nothing more than to be normal and to keep others safe even if that means leaving her loved ones. I liked that Charlie never relies on the guys in her life  to save her especially.

At first I really wasn't sure about the story but it quickly drew me in and kept me reading. There are a few grammar issues that are quite obvious but other than that I enjoyed the book. With enough attention I think people would become fan of The Lazarus Children books.4/5

Second Chances (The slayer Chronicles )

 Title:First Kill
Author: Heather Brewer
Published: Oct 16 2012

The stakes are life or death

The summer after Joss failed to kill the vampire Vladimir Tod, he gets a second chance to prove himself as a Slayer. He is sent to New York City to hunt down a serial killer that the Slayer Society believes is a vampire. It is up to Joss to lead his Slayer team, and through their detective work, they discover that there are actually four vampire brothers who are on the killing rampage. Joss must use all his skill to save the innocent people of New York City from the murderers. Joss's status as a Slayer depends on it.

*******************
This book had an appearance by Otis and some flashbacks to Joss's little fallout with Vlad, which I kinda loved. Joss is still deal with what happened in the ending of the last book and confused about vampires he has come in contact with three vampires that he genuinely liked, he is starting to question his actions even though he hates what they did to his sister Cecile and keeps havig nightmares.
Jose  messed up bad and the slayer society knows he took a  private job-his misson to kill Vlad- now he has to prove that he can be a hardcore slayer just like the rest of his pals and scary Uncle Abraham who still  pushes his young nephew to his limits because of whatever issues he has.Not to mention he's getting  creepy  texts from Kat, who wants revenge because of what went down in the last book.

Second Chance is a lot more fast paced then the first book and where introduced to a few new characters and get to see the old favorites. Even after reading the second book I'm still not sure how I feel  about Joss I like him a lot more now then when I read  the Vlad Chronicles but certain things bother me about him.To me he's a character you want to like but can't maybe he'll when me over in the next book.Yeah I get he was crushed after his sister died and all that but he seems really obsessed. That sort of makes me dislike him i'm rooting for him to change the slayer socity or to do something epic like that.

The cover was great in typical Heather Brewer fasion it's angst filledand eye cathing. So i really wanted to like this book but i'm not sure I though the first book was okay but this one was sort of lacking.Maybe it's just me so I would still say to give it a try.Hopefully the next book can pull me in but maybe not.2/5

Poison

Title:Poison
Author:Bridget Zinn

Release Date:March 12,2013

Publisher:Disney Hyperion

Sixteen-year-old Kyra, a highly-skilled potions master, is the only one who knows her kingdom is on the verge of destruction—which means she’s the only one who can save it. Faced with no other choice, Kyra decides to do what she does best: poison the kingdom’s future ruler, who also happens to be her former best friend.

But, for the first time ever, her poisoned dart misses...

Now a fugitive instead of a hero, Kyra is caught in a game of hide-and-seek with the king’s army and her potioner ex-boyfriend, Hal. At least she’s not alone. She’s armed with her vital potions, a too-cute pig, and Fred, the charming adventurer she can’t stop thinking about. Kyra is determined to get herself a second chance (at murder), but will she be able to find and defeat the princess before Hal and the army find her?
********************************

The synopsis is slightly misleading I thought it was going to be all bad-ass and angst filled but it wasn't it was a fun adventure-fantasy with murder, intrigue, and potions. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s a sweet romance mixed in as well -without the cliche love triangle-and don’t forget about the adorable pig. Despite the fact that the story wasn't what I thought it would be I definitely enjoyed.
The story is about Kyra who is a member of  she is a master posineer who's on the run after trying to kill her based friend and Queen.

Kyra is the type of female main character that I adore she brave,snarky/hilarious and a good friend. What I really liked about her character was that she made mistakes and yeah at times she trusts the wrong people or doesn't trust the right ones but regardless she tried to do the right thing...even if the right think was killing her best friend. Then theres Fred the love interest who I started to like right away the romance between him and Kyra was cue and slow.It wasn't all in your face and unbelievable it was a shock from the usaul type of ya romance i read in adventure/fantasy stories.

I absolutly adored Rosie the pig at frist  i thought the pig aspect was going to be silly or annoying and a burden, but it wasn't like that at all.If only real pig were as likeable as Rosie. The story was filled with twist and turns and just when I though the plot reached the climaxt there were a few more twists that were no less shocking. The ending will surly surprise you.I'm glad i gave this book a chance and I suggest everyone else give it a try.3/5
